Recycling incentives roll out citywide January 11 and you could also win an iPad!
Clearwater, FL – Starting Jan. 11, recyclers will be rewarded for their efforts with dozens of discounts and freebies from local spots around town as EnviroPerks comes to Clearwater, the Guinness Book World Record holder of the city with the most consecutive days of sunshine in a single year.
“Clearwater’s residents have increased the amount of materials that they recycle, from 160 tons to 440 tons per month since the city implemented the single-stream program in 2013,” said George Cretekos, Mayor of Clearwater. “All of us can be proud of these efforts to keep Clearwater bright and beautiful, and this incentive program is one way the city is able to say ‘thank you’ to its residents.”
Known for incentivizing people who take greener steps, EnviroPerks is eager to bring its recycling rewards to residents, businesses, and the city, and also to institute its data analysis platform to drive and encourage at-home recycling.
“We are excited to reward residents for their recycling efforts, and to support the local businesses of Clearwater,” says Bill Dempsey, President of EnviroPerks.
Residential Solid Waste customers are in for a treat when they activate their EnviroPerks account: every new member receives 100 points. By recycling regularly, they’ll have the opportunity to save up to $25 per month in discounts.
Here’s how it works:
Solid Waste residential customers will activate their free account at EnviroPerks.com. It takes less than two minutes.
Once a customer is enrolled, their cart will be automatically assigned to their household. If their cart is not automatically associated, they can add their cart to their online account by entering the serial number on the front of their cart.
Every time their recycling cart gets picked up at the curb at their normal pick up day, the associated EnviroPerks account will automatically receive 25 points.
Recyclers will be able to log in 24/7 to EnviroPerks.com and trade in earned points for discounts from local businesses. They can add household members to the account in order to share the common earned points.
EnviroPerks.com is accessible from any computer, tablet or smartphone and can geo-locate rewards nearest you or your home.
Additionally to all the rewards residents will get from recycling, every resident of the city of Clearwater who is signed up on EnviroPerks by Earth Day (April 22) will be automatically entered for a chance to win an iPad! So don’t wait!
Local businesses are equally encouraged to sign up to offer rewards for recycling through EnviroPerks. Learn more at: http://bit.ly/1RwBEHz.
A press conference with the Mayor of Clearwater will be held Tuesday, January 12th at 11 a.m. at the Clearwater Solid Waste office on 1701 N. Hercules Ave. Residents can sign up for EnviroPerks on the spot.
